The PositionSenior Accountant / Senior Controller - Real Estate Sector
Our client
Our client is a private investment firm.
Your role
The Senior Accountant, entailing Accounting & Control tasks, is in charge of regulated/unregulated Real Estate & Private Equity structures
The role includes operational accountabilities (30%); and review/oversight of the accounting/reporting deliverables produced by the financial accountants (70%)
In charge of complex Fund/corporate Structures with responsibility for processing operations properly, in due time and with respect to Accounting Principles (Lux GAAP, IFRS, UK GAAP, etc) as located in several jurisdictions
Maintain and review (as applicable) general ledger for entities and ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency
Prepare / review (as applicable) and reconcile inter-company accounts
Ensure regular reporting requirements are completed both accurately and within deadlines
Prepare / review (as applicable) financial statements and annual accounts for Lux based entities
Understand accounting, tax and reporting implications of contracts and other legal documents including board minutes, loan agreements, ...
Liaise with internal departments (tax, legal, AM & Acquisition team) to reconcile activity to the accounts, appropriate booking entries and promptly answer queries from US based fund accountants and auditors
Responsible to ensure the proper upload in Yardi of external (including foreign) reporting packs together with the assistance of the real estate accountant.
Prepare and review VAT returns where applicable
Review of the work performed by the Financial accountant / AP Clerk (when applicable)
Verify the loan cards and book the related interests
Notify auditors of potential audit issues, material transactions which occurred during fiscal year, and any subsequent events;
Prepare information and promptly answer queries for audits, as needed
Calculate the variable interests and liaise with PwC
Preparation of Quarterly Sub-consolidation in LUXGAAP and USGAAP
Statutory audit coordination and fulfilment of the audit inquiries

Your Technical Skills
Bachelors degree in Accounting
ACCA or equivalent certification would be appreciated
5-7 years of working experience in private equity, real estate, domiciliation company or big four desirable
Full knowledge of Lux GAAPs and other accounting referential is a plus (IFRS, UKGAAP, USGAAP)
Very good Knowledge of standard financing instruments (PPIs, CPECs, TRS) and Real Estate specificities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English French or German would be an asset
Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook)
Strong motivation to work in a challenging and dynamic environment
Methodical, attentive to detail and accurate
Flexibility, proactivity and a can do attitude
Good analytical, organizational & prioritization skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure, while maintaining close attention to detail
Knowledge of Yardi 7S and/or BOB 50 Expert is an advantage
