The PositionFinance Manager (M/F)
 
Our clientOur Client is a well established international insurance company, hiring a "Finance Manager" for his fast growing Luxembourg Desk.
 
Your roleRegulatory Compliance:
Assess the Companys (and its branches) compliance against CAA regulations and the Insurance Companies Act

Keep up to date with CAAs direction and focus and ensure any new developments are communicated and acted upon as necessary

Review and recommend the most effective and efficient approach to statutory and regulatory compliance (short, medium and long term)

Support the General Manager in executing his duties with respect to CAA

Support the effectiveness of the RMC and the Risk Management Function as part of the regulatory compliance role and ensure all issues are raised with the RMC as appropriate

Oversight of outsourced Actuarial Function

Capital Management:
Manage capital levels to ensure compliance while recommending actions to optimise capital efficiency

Ensure Capital Management Policy meets CAAs requirements

Statutory Reporting:
Review and oversight of all financial statements

Review and approval of reconciliations

Oversee and support EY audit to satisfy statutory and regulatory requirements.

Review of Solvency II reporting and ensure all reports are timely, accurate and compliant

Ensure timely and accurate filing of all other reporting requirements (e.g. National Statistics)

Ensure internal controls are in place and adhered to

Review current processes, identify potential improvements and ensure all procedures are documented

Tax Compliance:
Review income tax returns to ensure compliance

Review tax payment instalments, as appropriate

Maintain and oversee relationship with Tax Authorities, external tax advisers and the company tax departments

Management of Finance Department:
Supervise and maintain a flexible culture with the ability to adapt and manage change

Maintain high productivity and accuracy for all areas of responsibility

Coordinate and prepare financial information for board meetings, as required

Other Accountabilities:
Support Global and Financial initiatives and projects (e.g. GFP financial system project)

Support local business departments and gain a good understanding of operations






 
Your Technical Skills- Ability to supervise people, understanding of GAAP, SAP, etc, understanding of financial systems (Excel, PeopleSoft, etc...), advanced level of analysis and communication skills.
- Perfectly fluent in French & English
- You have 10 years of experience
 
Your Personal Skills
Bachelors's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience. Professional certifiacation (CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA, etc) or Master's Degree preferred.
